Objective

To design a seamless navigation experience that allows users to quickly and efficiently switch between multiple product applications on a mobile device, minimizing friction and enhancing productivity.

Target Users

Users who frequently switch between various product applications for tasks such as Document, Compliance, and Progress Daily Plans.

Research

User Interviews

I conducted interviews with 10 users across different InEight products. Key insights included:

  • Users often struggle to find and switch between apps quickly.
  • Users expressed a desire for a centralized navigation hub.
  • Frequent app switching leads to frustration and lost productivity.

Competitive Analysis

An analysis of similar applications revealed:

  • Some apps offered basic multitasking capabilities but lacked intuitive navigation.
  • Navigation menus were often cluttered or hidden, making them difficult to access.

Design

Information Architecture

I proposed centralized navigation hubs at the main InEight mobile sign in and from within the product applications main menu, which provides quick access to all the frequently used applications.

Wireframes

I created low-fidelity wireframes showcasing:

  • A main InEight mobile sign in product application navigation hub.
  • Product application navigation hub accessed via the product's application main menu.

Prototyping

An interactive prototype was developed using Axure RP, demonstrating the navigation flow:

  • Smooth transitions between product applications with minimal loading time.

Testing

Usability Testing

I conducted usability tests with 7 participants:

  • Task Success Rate: 100% of users completed navigation tasks successfully.
  • Time on Task: Users reported a 40% reduction in time spent switching between product applications.

Iterations

Based on feedback, we made adjustments:

  • Single Sign-On (SSO): Eliminate having to sign in to each product application when switching between apps.

Implementation

I collaborated with developers to ensure the design was implemented effectively, focusing on:

  • Optimizing the navigation for various screen sizes.
  • Ensuring quick load times for seamless transitions.
